Awards grants of an average of £5,000 to causes working at community level in the UK and developing countries which are less likely to be able to raise funds from public subscriptions. They favour applications that help improve people’s mobility, independence and quality of life. Their funding focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community.

The Yapp Charitable Trust

Offer grants for core funding to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40k who are undertaking work that focuses on one of the following:

• Elderly people
• Children and young people aged 5 - 25
• People with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges
• Social welfare
• Education and learning

Grants of up to £3,000 per year for three years are available.

Trustees meet 3 times per year to consider applications and a decision time can take up to 5 months from the date of submission.

  • The Core Costs Funding Stream is for charities and not-for-profit organisations. Applicants to this programme can apply for grants for up to three years. They aim to give quicker decisions for grants of £15,000 or less per year.

  • Funding for specific projects and activities children and young people aged 18 or under. Priority to smaller, local organisations and rarely fund organisations with income above £1 million. For UK wide Hospices and Housing Associations there is no maximum income limit. They will only consider applications for over £15,000 pa, if you are a registered non profit.
