Awards grants of up to £5,000 to UK registered charities whose activities involve all or most family members, where possible, in initiatives that seek to tackle problems facing one or more of its members.

Deadline to apply is 1 March and 1 September annually

Offer grants of up to £2,500 to small charities and projects that encourage community service by young people to their own neighbourhoods and communities.

Disability will be the priority for the 1st and 2nd rounds – specifically projects and initiatives that improve employment and training.

Food poverty will be the priority for the 3rd and 4th rounds.

This programme offers a larger amount of funding of over £10,000 for organisations that work together with a shared set of goals to help their community thrive – whether that’s a community living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences. The support is aimed at enabling organisations to continue to deliver activity or change and adapt to improve resilience.

Their Small Grants Scheme is designed to support charities registered and operating in the UK, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. The focus is to make one-year grants only to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, homeworking, or delivery of online digital services to charities that can show financial stability.

Awards grants via three funding programmes to registered charities:

Opportunity Programme (Improving life chances, realising potential), Environment Programme, Heritage Programme

They offer awards of up to and over £25,000 as well as multi-year grants.

Ongoing application window

Provides small grants up to £400 to support charitable organisations towards broader activities which improve Health, Place or Skills for families in their community.

Quarterly deadlines in November, February, May and August

Funding between £300 to £20,000 for VCFSE organisations to:

• bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities

• improve the places and spaces that matter to communities

• help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage

• support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.

Two grant options are available small grants of up to £100,000 and major grants of £100,000 or more. The types of grant made fall into one of three categories – Capital, Revenue (often called ‘core costs’) and Project work. The most important thing is that you apply for what you need.

Funding of up to £5,000 for UK registered charities and CIO’s currently supporting vulnerable people in geographical areas of high deprivation (within the UK) and with an annual income under £200,000.

Rolling deadline

The grant is always open for applications from charities and community organisations to bid for up to £1,500. Three projects in 575 local communities are voted on by customers in Tesco stores throughout the UK, with projects changing every three months.

BlueSpark provides grants for projects that support the education and development of children and young people. The funding is for small-scale projects which might not happen or would only happen on a lesser scale without the support of BlueSpark. Funding provided by BlueSpark must be crucial to your project rather than marginally incremental to its funding.

Funding available for VCFSE’s with projects that have a positive impact on communities, people or the environment and an average annual income of less than £50,000. Organisations/groups do not need to be a registered charity, however, will need to have a bank account in the organisation’s/project’s name such as a community bank account.

Awards grants of an average of £5,000 to causes working at community level in the UK and developing countries which are less likely to be able to raise funds from public subscriptions. Current UK funding priorities are: Homelessness, Penal Affairs, Asylum Seekers and Refugees, Community-Based initiatives for Disadvantaged Young People Aged 16 to 25.

Funding of over £20,001+ for projects that help communities to thrive.

The deadline to apply is ongoing but be sure to spend time finessing your application.

Grants of £500 - £5,000 for small charities or groups that support older people 65+, adults with a physical or learning disability or mental health problems. They favour applications that help improve people’s mobility, independence and quality of life. Their funding focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community.

Offer grants for core funding to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40k who are undertaking work that focuses on one of the following:

• Elderly people
• Children and young people aged 5 - 25
• People with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges
• Social welfare
• Education and learning

Grants of up to £3,000 per year for three years are available.

Trustees meet 3 times per year to consider applications and a decision time can take up to 5 months from the date of submission.

UK charities can apply for funding of up to £2,500 to help them improve their online digital presence. Small grants are available to charities with an average income of less than £1 million a year. Funding will help organisations to build websites and apps, digitise services, and purchase digital products.
